Feature.fm Alternative: What Artists Need Beyond Pre-Saves

Feature.fm has genuine strengths in pre-save and fan gate tools. If your entire music marketing strategy is pre-saves and download gates, it covers that use case well. But most independent artists need more than a pre-save tool — they need a full promotion and fan capture platform.

1. What Feature.fm does well

Feature.fm's strongest features: pre-save campaigns for Spotify and Apple Music, a 'Future Save' option that lets fans subscribe to all future releases, fan gate campaigns (fans provide email to unlock a download), basic analytics, and email capture integrations (Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign). The free tier is limited but exists. For artists whose primary marketing activity is running pre-save campaigns for each release, Feature.fm is a solid choice.

2. What Feature.fm is missing

Feature.fm does not have: a bio page builder (no link in bio tool), podcast hub pages, live event or tour pages, a Fan CRM dashboard, fan segmentation, geographic fan analytics, tracking pixels (Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel), or custom domain support at accessible price points. The free tier allows only 25 fan email exports per month — a severe limitation for any artist building a real email list.
