Verified Fan

A verified fan is a subscriber who has confirmed their email address through a double opt-in process, indicating genuine interest and ensuring the email address is valid and deliverable.

Verified Fan

Definition

The term verified fan refers to the email verification status in a Fan CRM. When double opt-in (verified capture) is enabled, a fan who submits their email receives a confirmation email. Only fans who click the confirmation link are marked as verified and added to the active list.

Verified fans represent a higher-quality contact than unverified ones. They have taken two deliberate steps — submitting an email and confirming it — signaling genuine interest. This makes verified fan lists more responsive, with higher open and click rates.

Why it matters

Email service providers like Mailchimp penalize accounts with high bounce rates from invalid addresses. A fan list with even 10-15% invalid addresses can damage deliverability for the entire list. Verified fans eliminate invalid addresses at the source.

How Lynkify uses this

Lynkify Fan CRM marks each subscriber with a verification status. On Artist and Label plans, verified capture sends a double opt-in confirmation. The Fan CRM shows verified vs unverified counts, and exports can be filtered to verified fans only for high-value campaigns.

Frequently asked questions

Should I send campaigns only to verified fans?
For important campaigns — album launches, tour announcements, merchandise drops — filtering to verified fans ensures maximum deliverability and engagement. For lower-stakes content like social updates, the broader unverified list can be used with care.
